Introduction

The official name of this track is "Autódromo San Luis 400", although it is better known as Autódromo Tangamanga II. It was built in the mid 70's as part of the festivities of the 400th anniversary of the city. The track had two layouts originally, long and short, of which only the long is still in use.

Of 2.4 Km (1.49 miles)in length, the track was rated by South American drivers as one of the toughest in the country, although it is flat as a pancake. A true driver's circuit, it is one of the most technical drives in Mexico. It has hosted a number of national series, such as NASCAR Mexico, Vintage Car Racing, Mexican F3, Formula Vee and Pony GT II and GT III. It is also host for the national motorcycle championship. A chicane was added in 2000 at the end of the longest straightaway in order to slow down the cars when coming to the final sweeper, the 180 degree curve called "Glorieta".

Currently it is host for the state championship races of Formula Vee and Pony GT II and GT III.
